Chelsea join Nathaniel Clyne chase
Manchester United were linked repeatedly to a move for Nathaniel Clyne during the January transfer window, but nary a deal was done. If the interest remains this summer, the Mirror reports that Louis van Gaal will have to battle Chelsea and Jose Mourinho if the want to bring the England international to Old Trafford.
The Southampton right-back is out of contract at the end of next season. His current club are also keen to re-sign him, though Clyne said in January he was fine to wait until at least April to start negotiations.
Talent aside, Chelsea are also interested in Clyne, whose value is estimated to be around 15 million pounds, to help them increase their number of homegrown players and so as not to run afoul of financial fair play regulations.
A Premier League battle royale for the 23-year-old could be looming on the horizon this summer.
