Super Eagles Striker, Emmanuel Emenike, survived a gun attack Saturday as his team, Fenerbahce’s bus was attacked by armed bandits.
The Team was making their way to the Airport after an away match when shots were fired at the bus, according to Turkish website Hurriyet.com.
The driver of the bus was injured and paramedics rushed him to the hospital for urgent medical attention.
The Fenerbahce team were making their way back home after a match against Rizespor in the North Eastern part of Turkey, where Godfrey Oboabona, a Super Eagles teammate, plays.
Emenike came in as a 57th minute substitute for Alper Potuk but fired blanks in his team’s league game before embarking on the trip back to their base.
The website reported that the team was taking a bus from Rize to Trabzon, to link a flight back to Istanbul, before gunshots hit the bus driver, who lost control before passengers helped the bus to a halt.
The only casualty was the driver as the players and officials were not injured.
